At about mile 20 I was still convinced I could make it under 4 hours but that plan changed over the next couple of miles so I just enjoyed the beautiful cottonwoods and warm sun the rest of the way in and marked 4:08 at the finish. I carried about 1.5 liters of water (brought from home to avoid that yucky Abq city water) with Endurox in my Hydrapack which seemed to keep my energy level pretty consistent with a few sips of water at each aid station for a hydration boost. A few mini Snickers bars and a big homemade chocolate chip cookie from a really nice lady along the course a few miles from the finish also helped. Just not enough leg muscles used to this distance yet. (It was probably not the best idea to have done the Pajarito Trail Fest 15 miler the weekend before at the pace I did, but in a way I think it helped.) A little sore for a few days after but feeling really good now, although I still have a major case of the recovery munchies. All in all a good run and a good test for me. Nowhere close to the times and distances you guys can do, but I'm having fun with it.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06074685197654813763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7606056202798955033.post-35471993656710812009-10-22T06:33:57.896-07:002009-10-22T06:33:57.896-07:00Thanks Dave.
